Where have I been?

I started this blog a while ago, before going to China to bring home the newest light of my life, Kelsey. Of course, updates were VERY few and far between, since it's now almost November. So much for having big plans for blogging - between work and baby, there's not much time to get this going...

However, to all the guests and visitors out there, I think I'll find a bit more time to keep this going. For now - baby pictures!

The first shot is of the extra special moment - the very second that Kelsey finally came into our lives and the Mrs. and I became parents. Kelsey seemed rather quiet, unlike a lot of the other babies who were wailing in the waiting room. The kids had to make it through a 7 hour ride by train from the orphanage into the city where we became Forever Families. She must've taken it all like a champ, aside from being a little scared when she saw all the people passing her around. To this day, I remember that moment vividly. It was cool to be the first parents called, too!

We had a wonderful team of guides for the entire trip! Helen met us in Beijing and traveled with the group for the whole two weeks. She was the master troubleshooter, paperwork maven, soother of frayed nerves and generally fun teacher of Chinese culture for 14 anxious families.

We also had Liang while staying in Changsha City, Hunan. He was the local guide who got us from Point A to Point B everyday and helped Helen make sure we didn't lose anything or anyone along the way. Kelsey took a shine to Liang soon as they met, and she always had a smile for him! Anyone think she likes older men?? (LOL)

I think it was Confucius who said that "A journey of a thousand li always begins with a first step." Now, who wouldn't be willing to take that first step if a face like this one was waiting at the other end of the voyage?

Expressiveness was never a problem for Kelsey, as the next few pics show in fine form:

Stay tuned for Part 2 - More Baby Pictures!

And here begins the new Blog

Welcome to Howlings at the Moon, my place for chronicling the ephemera of life as I know it.

I aspire to build a resume of writing credits, so anywhere I can write as practice for the big ones must be a good place to be.

Sit back, enjoy your ride, and keep the earplugs handy in case the wolf has the need to howl...
